Demask Latex Company since 1990

How we started...

A pioneer in the field of exclusive fetish wear and high quality latex clothing, Demask first opened its doors in the summer of 1990 on the Zeedijk located in the Red Light District of Amsterdam. Under the leadership of Steve English the exclusive designs were manufactured in the tiny workshop in the basement and sold on the first floor of the shop.

Demask quickly developed into a unique supplier of high quality fetish wear, especially latex. The products proved themselves through their innovation and quality and soon become popular in the fetish scene satisfying a demand for the stylish items. Soon afterwards stores opened in Munich & Dortmund and it was not not long before the humble workshop couldn't keep up with the increasing demand of latex products and they moved to a larger location down the road and the Demask team grew in numbers.

Alongside the pioneering stores Demask also took the lead in the world of international fetish events and in collaboration with Skin Two hosted the first of many Europerve Parties at the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam in 1991. The backdrop of pink flamingoes was unforgettable. Demask also hosted the more regular and sleazy Kinky Club parties in the basement of an old warehouse in the Amsterdam docklands which became legendary.

In 2011 Steve decided to hand the reigns of Demask over to his business partner Anton and his wife Louva and retire to the French countryside.

Demask until today...

On August 1, 2011  Anton (former business partner in Demask ) and his wife Louva ( famous French fetish model) took over the ownership of Demask from Steve English and made a large number of changes in design and production.

Anton originally did freelance wholesaling for Demask before joining the company in 2000 as Steves second-in-command. Over the next decade he played a key role in moving production to Czech Republic and opening stores in New York and three German cities.

Louva was originally  a make-up artist living and working in Paris. A chance encounter with Steve Engish led her into the world of latex and soon she became well known as fetish model regularly photograghed and filmed in extreme rubber creations.

The new enthusiatic owners became regulars at art openings and book launches of artists influenced by their clothes such as Peter Czernich and Gernot. A new chapter for Demask had begun.

Louva brought a new creative input to the company starting a new classy and colourful latex couture line “a la Parisienne”.  In November 2011, they organize an impressive show at Wasteland, one of the longest running and largest fetish events in The Netherlands. They also organize several other spectacular shows at home and abroad; including The SubRosaDictum in Germany in 2012, 2013 and recently in 2014.

2012 saw a collaboration with Vault Events  to resurrect the infamous rubber event Europerve, originally started in 1991. The party was a huge success and has grown in popularity ever since. This years party takes place on September 9th at the Q-Factory, Amsterdam. Tickets are available here: Europerve Tickets

An interesting little known fact is that Louva and Anton always make an appearance in the Demask performances, and sometimes even the mysterious Rubber Gigi appears.... They are undisputed latex lovers and they treasure the material as well as the scene and the people who are part of it.  With much pleasure they always test their products themselves before they finally take them into production.

How we work...

Since the humble beginnings in the basement of the shop on the Zeedijk innovation and quality have been at the core of Demask products. While production has grown each article is still hand made, either cut by hand or pressed cut on an antique press that has travelled from its original home in Amsterdam to the current workshop in the Czech Republic city of Ostrava.

In the early nineties, founder of Demask, Steve English used his engineering skills to create the iconic panelled hood which has since been widely imitated. Some years later inflatable torpedo tits hit the stores. Further collaborations have lead to silky finishes, face sitting pants and booty pants. Demask has always raised to the challenge of creating something new. Indeed it is not uncommon to create custom garments for people.

The raw materials come from the best possible sources. Our rubber comes from environmentally friendly, fair trade plantations in Malaysia where new techniques have meant that after the approximate 20 year life cycle of the rubber tree, rather than being burnt, the wood of the tree is treated and used in the timber industry. The ideal furniture for the hardcore rubber fetishists.
